FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a partner? No! Swing and Blues dancing are social dances - that means we dance with lots of different people, and encourage dancers to rotate partners in class to reflect the heritage of the dance. Lots of people come on their own, and we're a friendly bunch!

What should I wear? Clothes you can move in, teamed with sensible shoes that don't have too much grip and are comfortable enough to hop around in for a couple of hours! Plimsoll type shoes, or something smooth leather soled is ideal.

What should I bring? Bring your own water bottle and perhaps a change of shirt in case you get sticky. This swing thing can be hard work!

Do I qualify as a concession?
Highland Swing is a community-run group and we want to make Lindy Hop as accessible to as many people as possible on an 'honesty'-type basis. As a result, we are happy to give a concession price to anyone who feels they need it. This may include people with disabilities, old age pensioners, students or people on low-incomes.
